What is the Jewish Future Pledge?
The Jewish Future Pledge is a worldwide movement inspiring Jews of all backgrounds to commit that from the charity they leave at their passing, at least half is earmarked to support the Jewish people and/or the State of Israel. The Pledge is not a fundraiser for a specific Jewish organization. It is a moral commitment to the Jewish people.
No matter your age or your net worth, your signature sends a powerful message to family, friends and future generations about sustaining the Jewish people. Imagine what can happen if a million people commit to ensure that the Jewish future is secure?
I would like to pledge, but I don’t have significant capacity to give charitably. Can I still participate?
Yes, absolutely. The Jewish Future Pledge is for everyone, whether you plan to leave $10 or $10 million to charity.
The pledge is about more than sharing our dollars—it’s also about sharing our stories. Every single Jewish person—regardless of wealth, denomination, or belief—is part of Am Yisrael, the People of Israel. Everyone has a story to tell, and every dollar makes a difference. By committing to the Pledge, you are not only taking part in the Jewish tradition of tzedakah, but you are also ensuring that your wisdom, values, and life lessons live on in future generations.
$68 trillion will transfer to the next generation in the next 25 years. We estimate that about 20% of these charitable dollars will be given from Jewish donors. The Jewish Future Pledge aims to ensure that half of the amount allocated to charity by these Jewish donors, more than $600 billion, is set aside for Jewish causes.
How do we mobilize the next generation?
The Jewish Future Pledge creates an opportunity to start conversations with your children, grandchildren, and community about the Jewish values that have guided your life and the importance of sustaining the Jewish people. These conversations are critical for fostering engagement and support for the organizations that will carry on the Jewish tradition in the future.
In addition, we have created the Jewish Youth Pledge, a first-of-its-kind initiative that asks Jewish teens and young adults – age 13 to 24 – to commit to being active, contributing members of the Jewish community throughout their lives.

None of the funds committed through this initiative go to us. You or your descendants choose the Jewish organizations and causes you want your donations to go to.
I am already giving to Jewish/Israeli causes. Why should I sign?
If you’re already giving your charitable dollars to Jewish/Israeli causes now, signing the pledge makes sure that your legacy reflects your values – and helps to clarify what your wishes are after you pass.
Signing the pledge creates an opportunity to have a conversation with your children and grandchildren about the Jewish values that you hope they will carry on. These conversations and your pledge contribute to your legacy.
Is the pledge legally binding?
The Pledge is not a legal commitment. It is a moral commitment. There are many ways to actualize the Pledge. Consult an attorney to help you understand and decide the best way to secure the legal aspects of your Pledge.

Why should I publish my Pledge? Can I sign and choose not to have my name published?
You have the option to remain anonymous. Jewish teachings recognize the importance of publicizing one’s good deeds, in order to inspire others to follow the example. A good deed done quietly is certainly admirable. However, by going public with your support, you have the opportunity to set an example not only for your friends and family—but also for the world. Your pledge has the power to inspire others.
